Mission
Our mission at Redshift is to solve the world's
most challenging problems, with a spirit of creative freedom, technical
excellence, and interdisciplinary play, making innovations that benefit all.
We can break this mission statement into three components:
- Solve the world's most challenging problems. We concentrate our efforts on a
few fundamental problems in science and
technology at a time. These are chosen to maximize real-world
impact and the leverage we as an organization can bring
to bear.
- A spirit of creative freedom, technical excellence, and
interdisciplinary play. Great research
happens when creativity and technical expertise collide. We
aim to build an "idea collider" where this reaction is
effective and repeatable.
- Making innovations that benefit all. If breakthroughs
are locked in the ivory tower, they can't help anyone. When we
discover something, we create open-source tools and learning materials which make it
accessible to all.
